Nieuw Statendam - Holland America Line

Nieuw Statendam of Holland America Line, a brand of the group Carnival Corporation & plc, the first cruise operator in the world, was engineered to host up to 2.660 passengers in over 1.300 cabins, distributed along its 300 metres of length. The designer Adam Tihany and the architect Bjorn Storbraaten took care of every detail: for the public areas in particular, they inspired themselves to music and outlined the various ambiences throughout sinuous curves that remind those of musical instruments. On the whole, the selected style preserves that classical elegance which characterizes the ships of the Holland fleet and offers extensive bright spaces as well. Energy efficiency and a minimum environmental impact are other two important elements of this impressive structure that really stand out. This ship, sister of Koningsdam, represents one of the best expressions of the Dutch maritime tradition, also offering a wide choice amongst the most elegant and varied culinary specialties, as well as different experiences to satisfy the amusement needs of its numerous guests. The World Stage, for example, surprises for the many high definition screens and for its LED lighting system which completely involves the spectators in the room. Moreover, there also are two vast swimming pools and a well-equipped fitness centre, other than different clubs with various musical shows. This spectacular ship, the second one of the Pinnacle class for Holland America Line, imposes itself as another milestone reached by cruise design excellence, an example to refer to for the future developments of this sector.
